Re-usable die-cut paint masks
The set includes two sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien
was a Japanese-made, single-engine, propeller-driven fighter aircraft developed by Kawasaki during the end of the 1930s. It entered service with the Imperial Japanese Army in 1943 and saw combat throughout the Pacific War, including the defence of the Japanese home islands. The design was notable for its liquid-cooled, inverted V-12 engine, giving it a slimmer nose profile than the radial-engined fighters commonly used by Japan. Known as the Ki-61 Hien (Flying Swallow) and nicknamed “Tony” by the Allies, it was Japan’s only mass-produced wartime fighter powered by a liquid-cooled inline engine.
Ki-61 Tony Camouflage
in this DN Models’ set is a camouflage scheme based on a natural-metal finish broken by irregular dark green spots across the upper surfaces. The masks reproduce the distinctive spotted camouflage of the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien, as featured in Tamiya’s 1/48 scale kit #61115. The pattern follows the camouflage scheme included in the kit box, while allowing the modeler to adjust the density and placement of individual spots according to personal preference. This flexibility reflects the varied appearance of applied mottling and allows for individual interpretation of the finish. Always consult the instructions supplied with your kit or trusted references for the particular aircraft being modelled. This 1/48 scale mask set is designed for the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien and suits most kits available on the market.
