Re-usable die-cut paint masks
The set includes one sheet of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien
was developed by Kawasaki at the close of the 1930s. This Japanese single-engine, propeller-driven fighter joined Imperial Japanese Army units in 1943 and fought across the Pacific, including the final defense of the home islands. Its liquid-cooled inverted V-12 engine created a markedly slimmer nose than the radial-powered designs that dominated Japanese aviation. Officially designated Ki-61 Hien (Flying Swallow) and called “Tony” by the Allies, it remains Japan’s only mass-produced wartime fighter to rely on a liquid-cooled inline engine.
Ki-61 Tony Camouflage
in this DN Models set features a camouflage scheme based on a natural-metal finish broken by irregular dark green spots across the upper surfaces. The masks capture the characteristic spotted finish of the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien as presented in Tamiya’s kit lines in 48th and 72nd scale. The layout matches the scheme provided in #61115, but it is adapted for the smaller scale. The pattern is specific, but still lets the modeler vary the density and position of each spot to suit personal taste. Such freedom mirrors the inconsistent real-world mottling and supports individual interpretation of the paintwork. Always refer to the kit instructions or reliable references for the specific aircraft under construction. This 1/72 scale mask set is intended for the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien and fits the majority of kits currently available on the market.
