Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4/E-7 “Arrow” Bulgarian Air Force Numbers & Insignia 1/32
Suggested scale: 1/32
Suggested use: Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 & E-7 Emil 1/32
The set includes three sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.
Bf 109E
AKA Emil, was a German WWII fighter that was one of the legendary symbols of Luftwaffe and of the period in general. Battle of Britain was one of the reasons for 109s fame, where it fought against Spitfire, another WWII icon. Besides Germany, many other countries used different variants of the Messerschmitt 109. Bulgarian Air Force, at the time known as His Majesty Air Forces, used 19 Bf 109E /E-4 & E-7/ and more than 140 Bf 109G. Locally, the plane was known as “Arrow”, not Emil. Bulgarian Gustavs were painted in the regular camouflage tones, but the Emil wore a different and attractive paint scheme. It was painted yellow, from the front ’till the end sections of the fuselage. In Luftwaffe, some Emils were painted with yellow engine covers too, but Bulgarian AF 109s were significantly more vivid in appearance, due to the elongated and tapered stripes on the sides.
DN Models’ set
design is based on Eduard’s wonderful Bf 109 E-4/E-7 tooling. Considered as one of the most accurate representations of the plane in 32nd scale, it is very close to the real aircraft. Alongside Dragon’s Emil in 32nd scale, those two offer very rich modeling options when it comes down to that specific 109 variant. Even though the mask set is designed using Eduard tooling, considering the accuracy of the DML it could be used with that model line too. However, slight modifications might be needed, especially in the area around the cockpit, where the front of the yellow arcs meet. Insignia can be used with most 32nd scale 109E toolings available. E-4 and E-7 variants are recommended.
