The set includes two sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.
F-5F Fighter
is the two seat version of F-5 Freedom Fighter AKA Tiger II light supersonic jet. The plane is used for advanced military pilot training, being one of the very few supersonic jet trainers in use anywhere in the World. In many of its variations the Freedom Fighter is still active today, mostly as aggressor/adversary aircraft. Even though introduced in the 1960s, the plane is currently being digitally refitted with potential service life well into the 2020s, maybe even further. Due to its superb flight characteristics, Tiger II is also used by NASA as well as by many private owners as a basic/intermediate jet trainer. Perhaps the most famous appearance of the F-5 is in the movie TOP GUN, where it was used as a substitute for Soviet MiGs and being called MiG-28.
F-5F
from VFC-111 fighter squadron /called Sun Downers/ bears very attractive and popular camouflage scheme. It is one of the most famous and most depicted paint schemes on scale model’s boxarts. The mask set by DN Models is made using Kitty Hawk tooling in 32nd scale and can be used with any other 32nd scale F-5F kit. However, different manufacturers often present their scaled down versions differently, thus some alterations of the camo or the insignia might be needed if tooling differs from Kitty Hawk/Storm Factory. The mask set features insignia markings, that can be seen on the mask sheets depicted on the cover of this set.
