F-35B Lightning II RAM Panels Paint Masks Set for Trumpeter 1/32
Suggested scale: 1/32
Suggested use: Trumpeter F-35A #03232
The set includes five sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semitransparent for easy and accurate placing.
F-35B
Lightning II is a 5th Generation Fighter Jet made by Lockheed Martin Corporation in USA. The B variant is designed to substitute AV-8B Harrier as a short take-off, vertical landing aircraft. F-35B is also the one with the shortest operational range amongst all F-35 variants. The lack of fuel is dictated by the complexity of the engine swiveling system. Many countries’ Air Forces are joining the F-35 program, with orders predominantly for the A model, but also the STOVL F-35B. Among the ones that are getting F-35B are Italy, Japan, UK, US Marines and formerly Turkey. The latter was removed from the F-35 joint venture program due to political and security reasons. Spain is considering replacing their Harriers with F-35B too.
DN Models’ set
is designed for Trumpeter’s 32nd scale release /#03232/ and any eventual derivatives of the B model. The set cannot be used with any other tooling of the B variant of the stealth fighter. This mask set is very complex and requires thorough examination of the building steps depicted in the instructions as well as careful consideration which panels will be painted in different color and which – not. Latest variations in F-35B Ram Panels coloring shows that latter are barely visible and are sometimes painted in the same color as the plane’s other surfaces. Which specific areas are to be made with distinguishable RAM coating is up to one’s personal preferences.
